Michael Pisterzi
President & CEO
Mike Pisterzi heads the ADAPTIX team with more than 24 years of leadership in the telecom/datacom industry. Prior to joining ADAPTIX, Pisterzi served as the CEO for Transat Technologies Inc., a leader in the emerging market for secure mobile networking infrastructure. He has also served as the CEO of Photuris Inc., a pioneer in the high-density optical switching market. Before Photuris, Pisterzi’s first venture-backed effort was with AccessLan Communications, where, as CEO, he successfully led the company through acquisition by Advanced Fibre Communications Inc. (AFC), now part of Tellabs. As the COO for Alcatel USA, Pisterzi played a vital role in building a $4 billion business in access, transport, switching and software product lines. He joined Alcatel as a result of its acquisition of DSC, where he had served as a senior executive. Prior to Alcatel/DSC, Pisterzi helped plan, define and sell digital loop carrier systems and SONET ADMs at Fujitsu. In addition, he has been granted numerous patents in the telecom field.

Timothy E. Montgomery
Senior Vice President & Chief Financial Officer
In his role as CFO, Tim Montgomery draws on his more than 20 years of experience in global corporate finance and strategic business planning to set ADAPTIX’s strategic financial direction. He also is responsible for global financial management, control, reporting, planning, investor relations, facilities, legal, IT and administrative resources management. Prior to joining ADAPTIX, Montgomery served as the CFO at Photuris Inc., a provider of ROADM-based DWDM optical ADM systems (acquired by Mahi Networks, now Meriton Networks). Before Photuris, he served as the CFO at AccessLan Communications Inc. (acquired by AFC, now Tellabs). Montgomery also has served as the Group CFO for the Systems Management Group at Sterling Software (acquired by Computer Associates). In addition, he has served in several senior financial roles, including vice president of corporate finance, vice president of the Access Products Group, vice president of the Transmission Products Group and senior director of international finance – all during his 10 years at Alcatel/DSC.

Byron C. Young
Vice President, Marketing & Product Management
As the Vice President, Marketing and Product Management, Byron Young is responsible for market strategy, product planning and industry relations for ADAPTIX. In his more than 20 years in the telecom and datacom industries, Young served as the vice president of marketing for Transat Technologies. There, he led the company’s strategic planning and product management functions. Prior to Transat, Young served as the vice president of product line management for AFC (now Tellabs), where he led AFC’s entry into the fast-growing IPTV-based Telco TV market with the Telliant IP access platform. Young became a part of AFC after the acquisition of AccessLan Communications, where he served as the vice president of marketing and sales. At AccessLan, he spearheaded the product and market strategy for what became the AFC Telliant family, one of the first IP-DSLAMs to be deployed for next-generation IPTV services. Young has also held director and senior management positions in marketing and engineering at Cabletron Systems (ZeitNet), NET (Adaptive), Siemens, IBM and ROLM.

Nicholas S. Thomas
Vice President of Global Sales & Service
As the vice president of global sales and service, Nick Thomas is responsible for all of ADAPTIX’s global sales activities. Prior to joining the ADAPTIX team, Thomas served as the vice president of international sales at Covaro Networks (acquired by ADVA Optical Networking). Prior to Covaro, he held executive level sales and business development positions at Transat Technologies, NET, Raze Technologies and Ennovate Networks. Thomas has also served as the director of RBOC/IXC sales at Xylan (now Alcatel) and spent eight years at DSC (now Alcatel), where he was responsible for opening the Latin American and Asia Pacific markets. Thomas gained additional experience as product marketing manager at Plessey Semiconductors and as regional sales manager for the Middle East and Africa at STC Telecommunications (now Nortel). In addition, he is a member of the IEEE and the IEE.

Hui Liu, PhD
Chief Technical Advisor
Dr. Hui Liu is responsible for the strategic direction and guidance for technology and product development. He brings years of study in broadband wireless networks, array signal processing, DSP and VLSI applications and multimedia signal processing to his role as chief technical advisor for ADAPTIX. Prior to joining the company, Liu served as the chief scientist at Cwill Telecommunications Inc. and was one of the principal developers of the TD-SCDMA technologies. He founded Broadstorm Inc. in 2000 and was responsible for the overall architecture of the company’s innovative OFDMA mobile broadband Internet solution. Liu also currently serves as an associate professor for the Department of Electrical Engineering at the University of Washington, Seattle, and holds 16 patents. In addition, Liu has 40 published journal articles as well as two books – "OFDM-based Broadband Wireless Networks – Design and Optimization" and "Signal Processing Applications in CDMA Communications." Liu also is active in several technical groups such as the IEEE Communications Society. He has received a number of awards, including the 1997 National Science Foundation (NSF) CAREER Award, the ONR Young Investigator Award, and The Best Patent Award in China.
